You may have seen the blue and white street signs downtown Erie, or cemetery markers or local plaques in the area. These were manufactured at Lakeshore Industries. All the products here are custom made. The owner of the company Leo Bruno says everyone wants something a little different and his company makes sure they get only the best.  At Lakeshore Industries, area street signs are made, plaques and even cemetery markers used in Arlington National Cemetery.
A customer sends the company the plans, those plans go to the art department, then it's off to the foundry where molten metal is poured into molds. That metal is around 1,400 degrees. Once the item is taken from the molds, it goes to the finishing department where all the imperfections are removed, then it's off to the paint room.
Bruno says his products are made in America, and that makes a big difference when it comes to quality, and he wouldn't have it any other way.
