July 21, 2012--It's an event that draws thousands of people to the peninsula who would like to "Discover Presque Isle."
The annual event takes place next weekend and this year it's bigger than ever.
David Belmondo has today's Day At The Beach.
Mark you calenders for July 27th thru the 29th for the 19th annual Discover Presque Isle. It's a family event that has something for just about everyone.
There's something for everyone, competitive activities like the mile swim, vollyball challenge, or Delathon.
The 3 day event begins Friday at noon with an arts and crafts festival. Saturday and Sunday morning the pancake breakfast gets underway at 7:30a.m.
And this year there's even more activities planned.
There's actually a couple new ones, the family yoga another family thing to do, lighthouse tours, first come first serve, and the rock school with World of Music.
If you attend Discover Presque Isle, make sure you buy a button, it could be worth a grand.
This year's button is a superhero. It's a 3 dollar donation to the park and on the back is a number for a chance to win a thousand dollars.
And a special Discover Presque Isle t-shirt will be worth a hundred dollars.
The money raised at the annual event goes back to the park.
In the past, we built the Waterworks playground, money went to the nature center at TREC, and handicap fishing piers.
So if you haven't in the past, plan on coming down to the peninsula to discover Presque Isle.
