So many times on our way to Presque Isle we pass the Tom Ridge Environmental Center and give little thought that it is a certified green building with unique architecture.

The floors in the conference rooms and classrooms are made from cork, a renewable resource.

"What's unique about cork is that it's softer than the average material in floors and it can insulate," said Stacey Marendt an environmental educator.

From the floor to the ceilings you can see green...the "Trees" are even made locally.

The furniture in the bird loft is made from recyclable materials.

TREC will be giving Green tours this Sunday at 10am and 1pm.
