When the winter season hits Presque Isle it doesn't only mean chilly winds, it also means beautiful scenery and wildlife.
For those who enjoy the frigid outdoors there are two unique opportunities just waiting right outside.
On Friday, December 17th will be the monthly mile and a half night hike through the interior trails and even on the beach with a full moon guiding the way.
All you have to do is meet at the lighthouse parking lot at 6pm.
On Saturday December 18th will be the Presque Isle Audubon's Annual Christmas Bird Count on the peninsula and other areas of Erie County starting at 7am.
And later on there is another opportunity for a hike starting at 10am At Erie Bluffs State Park, where as always you?re welcome to bring your snow shoes and cross county skis.
