PI 365: Joe Root Campfire Talk

March 8, 2013

An upcoming campfire will take you on a journey of Presque Isle through Joe Root's eyes.

The legend of Joe Root is the focus of the indoor campfire at the Rotary Pavilion on March 15th.

There are a lot of stories about Joe Root that have been passed on by word of mouth over many years.

Joe Root adds mystery to the stories of Presque Isle dating back to the late 1800s.

Some people forget that Joe was a person who really did live along the shores of Presque Isle.

Joe Root's character will make an appearance and talk about the way the real Joe Root lived long ago. The stories paint a picture of what Presque Isle, the peninsula and Erie were like more than 100 years ago.

While sitting around the campfire, you'll be transported back in time, and Joe Root himself, will take you there.

Blankets and warm clothes are recommended.

The cost is just $2 and hot beverages will be provided. Registration is required.
