PI 365: TREC the Halls 2011

'Tis the season to TREC the Halls at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center.

The one day event is filled with activities for kids and adults.

On Saturday, December 17th, the Tom Ridge Environmental Center will host the annual TREC the halls, a fun filled day loaded with arts and crafts and all kinds of fun stuff to do for the holidays.

Environmental Educator Stacy Marendt says, "We have more crafts this year than ever, at least 5 or 6 different crafts that kids and adults of all ages can come in and participate in these."

The environmental educators will man the craft stations and the kids can make their own Christmas gifts.

"Kids can come in and make a gift for their parents, we're going to have pine cone bird feeders, a chance to make food for the reindeer, make Christmas wrapping paper. You don't have to be a kid to make these crafts. Pine cone bird feeders, who wouldn't want that? Pine cone bird feeders out in your yard to help feed the birds, and it's a simple thing," Marendt says.

At TREC the Halls there will be a breakfast buffet from 10 am until 2 pm, and Santa will visit from 11am till 1 pm.  For more info call (814) 833-7424.

There will also be a special holiday movie showing at 10:30 and 12:30; there is free admission, but first-come first-served.

Also, from 11 till 2, David Fitzsimons will be signing his book "Curious Critters."
