Attention artists!
There's an art competition coming up that's capturing the attention of parents and students.

The Presque Isle Art Contest offers students a chance to engage in some friendly competition.

Joe Pfadt, PI Advisory Board, said: "We're focusing on the historical portion of Presque Isle and keeping with the bicentennial for Erie and the region."

Students will create art based on this criteria, and Harbor Creek High School is getting a head start.

Joe Pfadt: "We're excited to see what the kids are already working on and see how the process is going, planning for this and build on the success from last year."

Last year's winner says it was an honor.
Hayden Seibert, Harbor Creek H.S., said: "It was a huge moment for me artistically; I was very proud."

Joe Pfadt: "In his work, he featured feathers and sand and it captured Presque Isle. It took the judge's breath away."

Jessica Starr,, said: "There are 84 categories to enter your art into this year, and the gold medal winner in each category will be up for the coveted Chairman's Award."

Joe Pfadt: "Our categories create an environment for kids of all ages to participate."

Students kindergarten through college are signing up because they love art, and because of the prizes.

Joe Pfadt: "And of course the recognition of being involved with the art competition which is a prestigious thing for them to do."

There's still time to enroll.
Registration is due by March 29th and the judging takes place April 26th.
