OSHKOSH, Wis. - WISCONSIN HERD OUTLASTS ERIE BAYHAWKS IN REMATCH
OSHKOSH, Wis. (Dec. 16, 2017) – The Wisconsin Herd (11-6), the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, edged the Erie BayHawks (6-11) by one point (111-110) in Saturday’s rematch at Menominee Nation Arena. The BayHawks outscored the Herd 115-99 in the teams’ previous meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 13.
The Herd held control for the first 33 minutes of the game, leading by as many as 18 points in the second quarter. Wisconsin was ahead 63-50 at the half and maintained a 90-82 advantage at the end of the third quarter. The BayHawks rallied back with 3:35 left in the game and led by one point with 27 seconds remaining. Wisconsin secured the victory off a Xavier Munford free throw.
Munford finished the night with 22 points in 38 minutes for the Herd. James Young notched a double-double and led the Herd in scoring with 28 points and 10 rebounds in 36 minutes of play. Bucks Two-Way player Joel Bolomboy racked up his second consecutive double-double, recording 21 points and 11 rebounds.
Atlanta Hawks Two-Way player Josh Magette led all scorers on the night with 31 points for the BayHawks, netting 23 points in the third quarter. Magette shot 9-of-17 from the field and 7-of-9 from beyond the arc. Two BayHawks players recorded double-doubles: Raphiael Putney (20 points and 10 rebounds) and Jeremy Evans (14 points and 13 rebounds).
The BayHawks return to Erie to host the South Bay Lakers on Thursday, Dec. 21.
