The SeaWolves, powered by three tape measure home runs, slug their way to a 5-1 win over the Harrisburg Senators on Thursday.
The SeaWolves jumped ahead on Senators starter Omar Poveda in the top of the first inning. With two outs, Devon Travis riffled a double down the left field line. Steven Moya followed and belted a two-run home run, his 10th, to right for a 2-0 Erie lead. Aaron Westlake followed and blasted a solo homer, his seventh, making it 3-0 SeaWolves. It was the first time this season that the ‘Wolves have hit back-to-back home runs.
Harrisburg’s long run came in the last of the third against Erie starter Jeff Ferrell when Brian Jeroloman connected a solo home run to right making it 3-1.
The ‘Wolves added a pair of insurance runs in the seventh against reliever Neil Holland. Corey Jones singled with one and Dean Green crushed a two-run
home run, his third, to right for a 5-1 lead.
Guido Knudson tossed two scoreless frames preserving the Erie win.
Ferrell (4-4) allowed a run on six hits with a walk and three strikeouts in seven innings.
