The SeaWolves dropped their fourth straight on Wednesday night as they dropped the third game of a four-game series to the Bowie Baysox 5-1.
Bowie got on the board in the bottom of the third against Erie starter Warwick Saupold. Johnny Ruettiger singled with one out and was doubled home by Chih-Hsien Chiang for a 1-0 lead. Christian Walker singled home Chiang for a 2-0 advantage.
Erie struck for its lone run in the top of the fourth against Bowie starter Jake Pettit. Jason Krizan led off with a single, extending his hit streak to a season-high eight straight games. Krizan was erased at second when Devon Travis hit into a fielder’s choice. Travis advanced to second on a groundout and scored on a Ramon Cabrera single making it 2-1.
In the sixth, David Adams homered with two outs making it a 3-1 Bowie lead.
The Baysox added a run in the and ninth innings and went on to the 5-1 win.
Pettit (3-3) was lights out for the Baysox allowing a run on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts in eight innings.
Saupold (2-5) took the loss allowing three runs on eight hits with a walk and six strikeouts in six innings of work.
