The SeaWolves couldn’t get the bats going on Sunday afternoon at Jerry Uht Park as they dropped the series finale with Trenton 4-2.
Trenton struck in the first inning against Erie starter Wilsen Palacios. Ben Gamel reached on a fielder’s choice and Tyler Austin walked putting a pair on. With two outs, Kyle Roller took the first pitch offering from Palacios and deposited it over the wall in left for a 3-0 Thunder lead.
Trenton added one in the third when Mason Williams connected on his first home run of the season for a 4-0 Thunder edge.
Erie got on the board in the fourth against Trenton starter Matt Tracy. Eugenio Suarez led off and extended his hitting streak to eight straight games with a double. Aaron Westlake doubled home Suarez making it a 4-1 game. With one out, Wade Gaynor doubled home Westlake making it 4-2. The SeaWolves would get no closer as they were limited to just one hit over the final five innings of the game.
Palacios (0-1) took the loss allowing four runs on five hits with three walks and three strikeouts in four innings of work.
