Sunday Baseball: Wolves drop a pair; Hurst earns NCAA invite

In Richmond on Sunday, The SeaWolves dropped both games of Sunday’s doubleheader to the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 5-3 and 6-3 at The Diamond.

In Erie, The Mercyhurst University baseball team got great news on Sunday night when it received a bid into the NCAA Division II baseball tournament. The double-elimination Atlantic Regional will begin on Thursday, May 15 and will be hosted by Kutztown University at Owls Field.

Mercyhurst (30-13), seeded fourth, will begin the Atlantic Regional Tournament against third-seeded Seton Hill (36-15) on Thursday. It marks the Lakers third appearance in the Atlantic Regionals since 2009 and their first trip since 2012. Mercyhurst has never advanced past the regionals.
