The SeaWolves, behind by seven runs early, rallied to plate 10 unanswered runs as they won their second straight, taking down the Bowie Baysox 10-7 on Monday night.
The Baysox wasted no time in the opening frame against Wilsen Palacios. Mike Yastrzemski singled on the first pitch of the game and reached third on a Niuman Romero double. Buck Britton brought them home with a two-run double for a 2-0 lead. Britton moved to third on a Michael Ohlman double and both scored on a K.D. Kang three-run home run for a 5-0 Bowie lead. Garabez Rosa and Ronald Bermudez each singled and Chris Marrero walked loading the bases. David Freitas walked to plate Rosa for a 6-0 lead. Bowie would plate one more on a double play for a 7-0 lead.
The SeaWolves answered in the second as Dean Green led off and belted a solo home run to straight away center making it 7-1. Steven Moya and Corey Jones followed up with back-to-back doubles making it a 7-2 game.
The Wolves climbed back into the game in the third as Devon Travis got aboard with a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a Green base knock and came around to score on a Moya RBI Double. It was the 102nd RBI of the year for Moya, tying Eric Munson's single-season franchise record from 2001. After advancing to third on play, Green and Moya came home on RBI Singles from Corey Jones and Jason Krizan as Erie drew within two down 7-5.
The SeaWolves continued to creep closer in the fourth as Dixon Machado turned the first pitch he saw into a double and eventually came home on groundouts from Travis and Green as Erie made it a one-run game.
The Wolves took the lead in the fifth as Krizan led off with a base hit, stole second, and came around to score on Jaime Johnson's RBI single. During the play, Johnson reached second due to a throwing error on Yastrzemski. After stealing third, Machado walked and stole second. Travis would bring both of them home on a two-RBI single as Erie went on top 9-7.
The SeaWolves added onto their lead in the sixth as Green lead off with a single. Following back-to-back base hits by Moya and Jones, Krizan brought Green home on a bases-loaded walk, extending their lead to 10-7. From there, the bullpen prevented every single comeback attempt from Bowie.
Wolves pitcher Wilsen Palacios (9-4) earned the win, despite giving up seven runs on 11 hits in five innings while allowing two walks while striking out 3.
Angel Nesbitt eared his sixth save tossing two scoreless frame to end the game.
