Philadelphia, PA - Before the preseason game between the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Ron Brooks kneeled during the national anthem in an apparent act of protest.
Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins also raised his fist during the national anthem, while his teammate Chris Long kept his hand on Jenkins' back as an apparent sign of solidarity.
Last year, Brooks raised his fist during the anthem with Jenkins before a regular season game in September.
Brooks has been the Eagles' top nickel back during camp, but left the preseason opener against Green Bay with a hamstring injury. He did not play against the Bills.
Long said the pre-game gesture was important. He believes other athletes of his color (he's white) should stand up with others protesting for racial equality.
