Randolph signs extension with Grizzlies

<p>The Memphis Grizzlies announced forward Zach Randolph exercised his player option for the 2014-15 season and signed a multi-year contract extension.</p>

Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - The Memphis Grizzlies announced forward Zach Randolph exercised his player option for the 2014-15 season and signed a multi-year contract extension.

According to The Commercial Appeal, citing Randolph's agent, the club picked up the $16.5 million option for the 2014-15 season and agreed to a two-year extension.

"Zach has become a cornerstone of our franchise, and his contributions have been immense not just on the court but in the Memphis community," said Grizzlies interim general manager Chris Wallace. "Through that process, he's become one of the most popular Grizzlies in the history of the organization."

Randolph averaged 17.4 points and 10.1 rebounds per game last season. In five seasons with the Grizzlies, he has averaged 17.8 points and 11 rebounds.

Over his career, Randolph has averages of 17.2 points and 9.4 rebounds in 13 seasons.
