Arlington, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Texas Rangers and first baseman Mitch Moreland have settled on a one-year contract for the upcoming season, the team announced Friday.

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Moreland will earn $2.65 million in 2014. The four-year veteran had been seeking $3.25 million in arbitration, with the Rangers initially offering a $2.025 million deal.

Moreland is coming off a 2013 campaign in which he set personal bests of 23 home runs and 60 RBI over 147 games, though he batted a career-low .232.

The 28-year-old owns a .253 average with 63 homers and 186 RBI over 442 major league games, all with Texas.
