The SeaWolves dropped the middle game of the series to the Harrisburg Senators, 6-4, on Wednesday night at Metro Bank Park.
Erie jumped ahead in top of the first inning against Harrisburg starter Zack Kroenke. Devon Travis tripled and scored on a Jason Krizan groundout for a 1-0 lead.
The ‘Wolves added to the lead in the fifth, Aaron Westlake doubled, moved to third on a Corey Jones single and scored on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Craig Albernaz for a 2-0 lead.
The Senators tied the game against Erie starter Wilsen Palacios in the bottom of the fifth. Sean Nicol led off with a single and with two outs, Michael Taylor belted an opposite-field, two-run home run, his 14th of the season.
The SeaWolves went back ahead in the top of the sixth against when Travis nailed an opposite-field home run to making it 3-2 Erie. With two outs, Moya blasted a solo home run, his ninth, off of the scoreboard in right making it 4-2.
The lead was short lived as the Senators quickly tied the game in the last of the sixth against Palacios. With two outs, Kevin Keyes reached on a broken bat single to center and Caleb Ramsey belted a two-run home run to right making it 4-4.
Palacios would exit after six innings with a no-decision. He allowed four runs on six hits with two walks and four strikeouts.
The Senators took their first lead of the series in the bottom of the seventh against reliever Bryan Augenstein (0-1). Mitch Canham led off with an opposite field double and he scored on a one-out Taylor triple for a 5-4 Senators lead. Quincy Latimore followed with an RBI single making it 6-4.
Rafael Martin held the SeaWolves scoreless over the final three innings, including a 1-2-3 ninth.
