A 1941 graduate of Wesleyville High School, Carm Bonito went on to play football and wrestle at Bowling Green. His coaching career began at Waterford Academy in 1949 - he was head football coach until the school was torn down in 1954.

From there, he went on to coach at the new Fort LeBoeuf High School from 1955 until 1965 and served on the staff until his retirement in 1982. The school's football field bears his name to this day.

Bonito was inducted into the Fort LeBoeuf Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Wesleyville-Iroquois-Lawrence Park Hall of Fame in 2008.
