After six years as head coach of the McDowell football progam, Mark Soboleski resigned from his position on Thursday night.

District officials say they will meet and determine how to fill the position. No timetable has been set for finding Soboleski's replacement.

Soboleski took over the program in 2008 and posted a career record of 45-24 in his six seasons with the Trojans, posting a winning record in each year he was at the helm of the program.

McDowell reached the PIAA Class "AAAA" quarterfinals this season before losing to eventual state runner-up Pittsburgh Central Catholic, 48-7.
