ERIE, Pa.--- The SeaWolves got back on the winning track Tuesday after they beat the Portland Sea Dogs 6-4 at UPMC Park.
The beginning of the game was littered with scoring from both teams. Danny Mars homered down the right field line to start off the game, and then Henry Urrutia's RBI double made it 2-0.
Erie tied it up immediately in the bottom half of the first inning. Dominic Ficociello knocked in a run on a single, and then Gabriel Quintana's sacrifice fly gave him his 43rd RBI and knotted the game up at 2-2.
The Sea Dogs jumped back to a 4-2 lead going into the bottom of the second, but Erie pushed three runs across in the home half of the inning. Harold Castro added an RBI single, and then Christin Stewart singled with the bases loaded to give Erie the 5-4 lead.
Logan Watkins smacked his second home run of the year into right-center off of Sea Dogs starter Elih Villanueva to extend the lead to 6-4 in the third.
After the third inning came to a close, the pitching picked up for both teams. A.J. Ladwig finished with 11 hits and four earned in five innings to earn the win to improve to 4-1 on the year. The SeaWolves bullpen threw four scoreless in relief after Ladwig was taken out. Sean Donatello only gave up a walk in the sixth, and Bryan Garcia fanned two in two hitless innings. Jairo Labourt closed out the ninth to give him his third save with Erie.
Villanueva received the loss to fall to 1-2 on the season.
The SeaWolves snapped their three game losing streak in the win and improve to 34-36. The rubber match will conclude the series at 12:05 PM at UPMC Park. Myles Jaye (1-6, 3.92 ERA) will face Portland's LHP Trey Ball (1-6, 5.93 ERA).

It's also Winner Wednesday, where four lucky fans 18 and older will receive a prize pack presented by the Pennsylvania Lottery. It's also UPMC for Life's Senior Expo tomorrow.
Note: Tuesday night's fireworks show presented by Country Fair was postponed due to rain after the game. The fireworks have been rescheduled for Thursday, July 13. Any tickets from tonight's game can be exchanged for Thursday, July 13 only.
