From Green Right Now Reports

Texas travelers can now charge their electric vehicles at Park ‘N Fly lots serving the DFW International Airport in Dallas and George Bush International Airport in Houston.

The recharge units are part of the eVgo (ee-vee-go) network created by NRG Energy Inc.

Each of the parking lots has two EV charging units that allow eVgo subscribers to recharge while they’re traveling.

To celebrate these inaugural Park ‘N Fly charging stations, eVgo and Park ‘N Fly are offering EV drivers free charging through March 31.

“True to our promise to offer more than just parking, Park ‘N Fly is thrilled to add Charge ‘N Fly car charging stations to make parking with us even more convenient, ” said Amy Hicks, Director of Marketing Park ‘N Fly. “eVgo subscribers wanting to take advantage of this service only need to drop their vehicle off at Park ‘N Fly and we will take care of the rest ensuring the vehicle is charged prior to the scheduled return of the driver.”

The commercial 240 Volt AC chargers (Level 2) are capable of charging an electric vehicle for up to 25 miles of drive time per hour of charge.

“Charge ‘N Fly is an important step in bringing range confidence to Houston ad Dallas Fort Worth-area drivers,” said Glen Stancil, Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Development for eVgo.

“With these two chargers, EV drivers can make the commute to the airport from anywhere in the two largest metropolitan areas in Texas and know they will be going home fully charged when they return.”

eVgo Network sells monthly subscriptions to car owners, which allow them to using the network’s charging stations in many locations.
