BREAD PUDDING WITH WARM BUTTER SAUCE
Not only a fabulous dessert, but great for a special breakfast. You can even add nuts, if desired, to add some crunch!
6 cups French or sourdough bread, torn into small pieces
1 cups low fat milk
1 cup sugar
cup melted butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspooons vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond flavoring
1/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup shredded coconut
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Spray a 9x9 glass baking dish with non stick spray
In a mixing bowl, combine the bread and milk
In another bowl, mix all other ingredients and add to the bread mixture.
Pour into prepared baking dish and bake for 30-40 minutes or until center of pudding is set and top is golden brown.
cup light corn syrup
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Place all ingredients into a small saucepan and melt over low heat, whisking to combine.
Serve sauce poured over warm bread pudding
