Coroner Identifies Man Who Died in Sunday Morning Shooting

Coroner Identifies shooting victim as 26 year-old Rashid Anderson.
The coroner has confirmed the name of the victim from the shooting that occurred Sunday Morning. The coroner reports 26-year-old Rashid Anderson died from a gunshot wound to the chest. Police are continuing to investigate the shooting that occurred at the former East Erie Turners Just after 1 AM Sunday morning. A private party was going on inside the building when the shooting happened. Police believe there were 100-200 people there at the time. Anderson was taken to UPMC Hamot following the shooting, where he later died. The coroner has ruled this a homicide. A 20-year-old man, 18-year -old woman and 19-year-old woman were also taken to the hospital after being shot. All victims suffered from gunshots to the legs, one woman was shot a second time in the wrist. Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening. Chief Randy Bowers says they are documenting information from the scene and from witnesses. They are receiving information from the public and have a description of at least one person who may be responsible for the shooting. Police report all indications show they will be able to come to a conclusion within the next couple of days. Police are also investigating a shooting that happened around 3 AM Sunday morning at 2307 Holland Street and believe they may be related.
