The afternoon sun heated up the SeaWolves' bats as Erie took the series finale from the Harrisburg Senators with a 7-3 victory.
Erie's Ramon Cabrera started his four hit game off in the first with an RBI single that scored Eugenio Suarez. Cabrera's next RBI single game in the third, plating Luis Castillo. Harrisburg tallied a run in the second with a solo homerun by Jason Martinson.
Erie picked the scoring back up in the sixth. Ramon Cabrera's third single allowed him to score on a Marcus Lemon triple. Lemon would score when Brandon Douglas singled in the next at bat to extend Erie's lead to 4-1.
Harrisburg attempted to rally in the top of the seventh. Ryan Robowski loaded the bases with no outs. Will Startup induced a double play that allowed one run to score to make it 4-2. After reloading the bases, Startup struck out Brian Goodwin to end the inning.
In the bottom half of the inning, Erie added their insurance off reliever Pat Demny. A leadoff walk by Wade Gaynor followed by a single for Luis Castillo put Jamie Johnson at the plate. Johnson smashed a double that brought home Gaynor and advanced Castillo to third. A sacrifice fly by Daniel Fields brought Castillo home and Ramon Cabrera's fourth single brought Johnson in for the catcher's third RBI.
With Erie leading 7-2, Will Startup surrendered a homerun to Jimmy Van Ostrand in the eighth. After retiring one and plating two on second and third, Will Clinard relieved the All Star. Clinard worked the rest of the game scoreless, earning his first save of the season.
Matt Crouse (5-7, 4.42) picked up his first win for Erie since May 26 after working 5.2 innings allowing just one run with four strikeouts. The SeaWolves travel to Akron for a three game set at Canal Park.
