A short film produced by digital media students at Erie's Central Career & Technical School is among those receiving "Honorable Mention" at this year's White House Film festival.

The student-produced video, which highlights the use of innovative technology in Central Tech's labs and classrooms, will soon be featured on WhiteHouse.gov and may also be shared this spring through official White House social media channels.

A panel of judges, consisting of White House staff, selected finalists from more than 2,000 student entries based on creativity in expression of the theme, originality of the submission and technical quality of the final video product.

Under the direction of teacher Abby Cahill, students in Central Tech's digital media program learn multimedia production, photography, advertising and public relations techniques and also study theory, equipment operation, graphics, directing and editing.
