CLP Trustees to Meet with Attraction Operators this Week

As the state attorney general continues to pursue civil charges against the board of trustees of Conneaut Lake Park.
January 12, 2014 - As the state attorney general continues to pursue civil charges against the board of trustees of Conneaut Lake Park, efforts continue behind the scenes to save the aging attraction in Crawford County.

Once again this week, the operators of the Beach Club and Hotel Conneaut are meeting to convince trustees to allow them to save the park with a plan to pay back taxes, rebuild the Beach Club, and open other attractions.

It's a plan that if accepted as offered, would put many of the parks profit makers in the hands of the operators for up to 30 years.

Meanwhile, a Crawford County judge is set to meet with the attorney general and park trustees again in just weeks, to update the state's case against the trustee's for failing to protect park assets and resources.

The park carried no fire insurance on the Beach Club and Dreamland Ballroom that were both destroyed by fire.
