EDINBORO, Pa. – With so many higher education options, finding the right fit can be challenging.
At Edinboro University we give students exactly what they’re looking for: An exceptional and affordable education with a solid foundation of top programs that can lead to good jobs.
Spring Open House at Edinboro University is an ideal time to get answers to all of your important questions and jump-start the college application process. EU will welcome prospective students and their families to campus for its annual Spring Open House on Saturday, April 12, from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Frank G. Pogue Student Center.
Edinboro’s Open House is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors and their families, along with adult, transfer and potential graduate students, to learn more about the northwestern Pennsylvania region’s largest and most comprehensive institution of higher education. Throughout the event, visitors are welcome to tour Edinboro’s 585-acre campus, including walk-through tours of academic, recreational, athletic, dining and residential facilities.
Tours this year will include a visit to Edinboro’s most recently updated facility – Ross Hall. As part of a building renovation and expansion completed in the fall, Ross Hall is now outfitted with state-of-the-art classrooms and computer labs and is a point of entry for the University’s new enclosed pedestrian walkway, which connects the east and west sides of campus.
The walkway provides students, faculty and staff with a protected, efficient route between Ross Hall and the Council of Trustees Plaza in front of Baron-Forness Library. The walkway is open and accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and features WiFi access throughout the 508-foot length of the bridge and radiant heating in the floor that maintains the temperature inside the walkway at about 55 degrees. The structure also is equipped with a sprinkler fire-protection system, and is of particular benefit to our students who use wheelchairs because it bridges uneven terrain and greatly reduces the time they must spend outdoors in inclement weather.
Prospective students and their families also will be able to speak with faculty and chairpersons from all academic departments, athletics staff members, and admissions and financial aid counselors. Led by President Julie E. Wollman’s commitment to excellence and student success, the University’s team members are eager to assist all visitors.
There is no cost to attend the University’s Spring Open House program. Additionally, all Open House attendees who have not yet applied to Edinboro University will be offered a waiver of the University’s $30 application fee.
With 70 baccalaureate programs, 16 graduate degree offerings, 10 associate degree programs, more than 50 minors, 17 varsity sports, outstanding laboratories and libraries, nationally renowned services for students with physical disabilities, hundreds of clubs and organizations and a vibrant Greek and social life, EU is the perfect place to discover the true meaning of success.
A campus visit is a wonderful opportunity to determine if a college or university is the right fit. If our Spring Open House doesn’t fit your schedule, please contact our Admissions Office to arrange a personal tour.
