Fire Rips Through Home on East Lake Rd

Crews knock out fire at 1410 East Lake Rd; one firefighter suffers from minor eye injury.
February 27, 2014 - Fire officials tell us the fire started in a car next to the house at 1410 East Lake Rd, and then it spread to the second and third floors, across the attic.

By time fire officials arrived on the scene, heavy smoke and flames were visible, but multiple crews were able to put the fire out quickly.

Eyewitnesses us tell us they were shocked seeing all of the flames.

Fire officials tell us they are proud of how crews were able to put out the fire in such a quick fashion, despite brutally cold temperatures and freezing rain.

One firefighter was taken to the hospital for a minor eye injury.

Initial reports suggested there was entrapment, however, that fortunately was not the case.
