February 13th, 2013

The teacher was invited back to be a guest reader in her old 4th grade class, but she soon turned into the guest of honor.

Mrs. Susan Owens is a retired 4th grade teacher from McKean Elementary School.  After 25 years in the classroom and only weeks of retirement, she was back in school on this day, as a special guest.

This weeks Golden Apple Award winner made it very clear that she actually shares this award with the faculty, staff, administration and parents who all contribute to a successful education.

Susan owens: "No one does this by themselves ... it does take a village...it does."

Her willingness to share the glory is impressive.
