A local 7th grader has been collecting newspapers at a senior high-rise for the past couple of years, and turning a profit, all to help out different charities.
Meet Ian Sitzler. He's making the world a better place one pile of newspapers at a time.

"First of all, it's recycling, which is good in itself."

Ian goes to St. Joseph's Apartments every 2 weeks and takes their old newspapers.
It's a win-win for everyone.

Nancy Eichelsdorfer, former resident's daughter, said: "So St. Joseph's Apartments gets ride of the newspapers and the newspapers go to a good cause."

Ian gets money for the recycled goods, and those proceeds go to charity, like the Regional Cancer Center.

Kim Whelan, St. Joseph's Apartment, said: "I think it's respectable and admirable that he does this, and I admire him for this."

Ian shied away from the camera, but the ladies at the apartment building couldn't say enough about his good deeds.

"I think it's admirable that he's doing this for the community and won't accept accolades."

They say they are impressed with his dedication.

Mary Best, resident, said: "He came every 2 weeks to collect these papers, rain or shine, sleet or snow, he was always here always cheerful happy always, willing to do it.
We really appreciate him making the sacrifice and coming for the papers."
