Hometown Hero: Willy Blystone 11/14/13

Not only does he tirelessly donate his time, he's described as a man who approaches everything with a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he meets.
Willy Blystone of Erie is a veteran of the United States Army and the Vietnam War. He served in the infantry from 1968 to 1969, seeing numerous firefights. These days, that sense of service is helping Cub Scout Pack 13, which his own sons are involved in. For two years, he's been doing whatever he can.

Shannon Goho, co-nominator, says: "Not only monetarily, but with his time generally. He's spent hours, months, weeks just doing anything he can to help. He's got the time ... he's our hero.

Willy is a husband, father and grandfather. Not only does he tirelessly donate his time, he's described as a man who approaches everything with a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he meets. U.S. Army and Vietnam Veteran Willy Blystone, this week's Hometown Hero.
