Kristina Allen Homicide Case Continues

Day Two of Witness Testimony
The Kristina Allen case continues in court today. Allen is accused of fatally shooting her boyfriend, Dean Haggerty, to death with a single gunshot wound during an argument inside of their mobile home last year. The 29-year-old is charged with criminal homicide, reckless endangerment and possessing instruments of crime.

During day two of the trial, the prosecution played a lengthy video of Allen’s police interview, trying to prove that she lied during interrogations. Allen told investigators that her relationship with Haggerty turned sour and cheating accusations were running rampant.

The jurors watched the tear filled admission and learned that Allen changed her story of why and how she shot Haggerty several times. First, she said they got into a physical fight and that’s when he reached for the gun and tried to shoot himself in the head. Then, she switched her story saying she pointed the gun at him to get him to stop acting erratically. Finally, she claimed she went to throw the gun and hit the trigger.

Also, Dr. Eric Vey, a forensic pathologist, took the stand. He informed jurors that Haggerty’s toxicology report showed that he tested positive for .286 percent alcohol, multiple times the legal limit.

Allen is currently being held without bond. The trial is ongoing and it is unclear how many more witnesses will take the stand.
The trial presumes tomorrow morning.
