Meet the US Coast Guard's Morale Dog, Chief

Chief was adopted by the US Coast Guard from the Humane Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania.
June 24, 2014 - The US Coast Guard Station in Erie has a four-legged friend that brightens the day of all the officers. His name is Chief and he's a black Labrador that calls the station home.

He once lived at the Humane Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania, before the Coast Guard took him in. You can catch the lab out playing with the officers, dressed in his life jacket for when he's getting in the water.

The officers spend a lot of time with Chief and they say the dog means a lot to them. "He's our morale dog. So he means a lot to us. It's nice to have him wag his tail whenever he sees you come in in the morning. He means a lot to us," Giovvani Roman said.
