JULY 2, 2014 - A new emergency dispatch system was unveiled today in an effort to keep Erie County residents safe. County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper and Public Safety Director John Grappy introduced the Northern Tier Regional Telecommunications Project. The new system is said to better dispatch 911 calls. Nine counties and Erie will now be part of the communications system.
Officials say it is more cost efficient and effective. The system changed over last Wednesday. Officials say the transition has been smooth.
