Revitalization on Parade Street will continue, but some are concerned with the proposed plans.
Plans for a grocery store never made it through, and now this 3.2 acre property will be developed into housing.
The low income townhouses known as Parade Street Commons will consist of 36 town homes.
According to the builder, Mike Peck, part of the Renaud-Peck Real Estate Development Group, they will be first class.
Peck says they saw a huge demand for housing in that area and have worked with Kidder-Wachter Architecture and design on the plans.
He tells us their other developments, including Niagara Pier have been successes and hopes to be successful on 19th and Parade.
According to Code Enforcement Officials, the total cost is $4.59 million.
Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott says although it won't be retail...it's still revitalizing the area.
