Today, PennDOT and Millcreek supervisors discussed a plan to relieve traffic issues along Interchange Road.

Coincidentally, the supervisors denied a request for rezoning to high density, multi-family housing along Interchange RoadThe reason for the denial is mainly because it is already a high traffic area.

Today, PennDOT informed the Millcreek supervisors of prospects for the project that would widen Interchange Road and add lanes. This would help traffic flow from Zuck Road all the way past Interstate 79 near the pavilion area. The I-79 bridge would not be widened, but plans would include adjustments to the Walnut Creek Bridge.

The Funding for the engineering phase is there, but the funding for construction is still needed and would come from the state and federal funds.

Again this is still in the early stages and could take up to 2 years to completely come together, and likely one construction season to complete.
