Tomorrow night kicks off the first block party in Erie, but what are the rules when it comes to carrying alcohol on the street?

Here in Erie there is not an open container law, meaning during block parties, you can bring your alcoholic beverage into the roads.

But not so much in other municipalities. In Corry, there has been an open container law in place since 1979.

Chief Richard Shopene tells us you can't walk the streets, sidewalks, alleys or parks with any kind of alcohol.

There could be an exception when it comes to special downtown events, but police will be on the lookout for anyone not following the rules.
