The Port Authority is moving closer to starting repair work on the Don Jon dock wall.
The authority's board approved ratification of the contract for the repair at its meeting today.
The project is a five-million-dollar state grant that's been awarded to Chivers Construction along with Church and Murdock.
The authority's executive director, Ray Schreckengost, says that today's ratification was a formality.
It was necessary because the contract had to be awarded as soon as they received a bid, to get it in on time.
Schreckengost says the construction companies have been given the notice to proceed and will start within the next week or two.
The cost is expected to come in below the state grant.
Schreckengost says it'll be around 4 million dollars for the repair of the 960 foot wall.
