A convicted Erie contractor learns his fate in court today.
Fifty-one-year-old Martin Deniziak was sentenced to 2 years of probation.
That sentencing stems from charges that he collected deposits then never did the work.
President Judge Ernest DeSantis sentenced Deniziak to 24 months of probation. Deniziak must also perform 100 hours of community service.
The 51-year-old former contractor pleaded no contest to one count of theft months back and took a plea deal.
Judge DeSantis says the sentence was lessened because Deniziak already paid back the 23 customers as part of a plea bargain.
That money totaled 54 thousand dollars.
Both the prosecution and the defense say they were content with the sentencing.
Deniziak's siding company went out of business back in October.
These incidents happened back in August of 2011.
Deniziak said he was sorry for everything that happened, and he tried as hard as he could.
