Erie Mayor Swears in Randy Bowers as New Chief

Bowers is now the third chief of police in his family.
A new era begins today at the Erie Police Department as Erie Mayor Joe Sinnott swears in Randy Bowers.
In front of friends and family at city hall, the 35 year police veteran became Chief Randy Bowers.
Bowers is now the third chief of police in his family.
Sticking with the family tradition, Mayor Sinnott gave Chief Bowers his father's badge from when he was chief in the 70's.
Chief Bowers says he takes his new position seriously and is looking forward to the new role.
Mayor Sinnott also promoted Captain D.J. Furhman to Chief Bowers' old position.
Fuhrman is now the deputy chief of the Erie Police Department.
