September 3, 2013

SCALLYWAGS is almost ready to set sail. Get your sea legs ready, because this pirate ship starts giving tours starting Thursday! The ship is owned by Tim Sedney, who also owns multiple businesses including the Lady Kate tour boat, The Cove and Rum Runners. He designed it himself and had it built just for Erie. It’s creating ten new jobs and can welcome 75 passengers on board at a time, plus a few crew members. The vessel is 64 feet overall, 20 feet wide, and 33 feet tall. It’ll take you on an experience you won’t soon forget. The narrated tour of the bay lasts an hour and a half. Pirates will be on board with you. There are trips for the kids, as well as adult cruises. You can also rent the boat out for private parties. People are already starting to make reservations for birthday parties and even weddings. The boat will undergo final Coast Guard inspections Tuesday. Tickets are $20 for ages 3 and up, $10 for 2 and under. They can be purchased at the ticket booth just before you reach Dobbins Landing, or by visiting www.piboattours.com.
