Family Fitness Month Opportunities at Glenwood Park YMCA

The YMCA is offering opportunities to get families involved together on the journey to good health
January 13, 2014

It's Family Fitness Month, and the Glenwood Park YMCA is encouraging families to take on wellness together. The YMCA is offering opportunities to get families involved together on the journey to good health. They have a Family Fitness Program so families can work out together using some of the equipment with guidance from the staff. They also have basketball courts, a pool, racquetball, soccer and other activities to do all together. Family community service projects are also offered so you can help those in need while spending time with loved ones.

The Eastside YMCA is inviting you to take on an Ultimate Wellness Challenge. Spots are limited. Registration is expected to fill up quickly, and those interested in signing up must do so by January 17th. The program starts February 1st. The Wellness Challenge requires a membership to the Y, and a commitment to come to the Eastside Y five days a week. You’ll compete for a one year membership. The program is free other than the membership cost, but you’ll come across several minor additional costs including a journal for your progress, and outings as a group to restaurants and grocery stores, as well as your own transportation. You’ll work with wellness coaches, dieticians and fitness instructors. If you’d like to join, you can work with our own Jessica Starr, who is taking on the Wellness Challenge. Contact the Eastside YMCA on Nagle Road. 899-9622
