Fire Rips Through Home in Harborcreek

Fire Fighters work in extreme conditions to fight flames.

Nine fire departments were called to the scene of the fire where single digit temperatures were making it difficult to fight the blaze. Fire fighters were called the scene in the 4200 block of Williams road in Harborcreek. The call came in just after 6 PM and fire fighters were met with strong flames. The home was fully involved as fire officials tried to enter the house, but were pushed back due to the strength of the fire. They had to use a defensive operation when fighting the blaze. No one was home at the time and we’re told the homeowners are out of town. Crews from Harborcreek, Brookside, Fairfield, North East, Wesleyville, Kuhl Hose, Greenfield, Belle Valley, and Perry Highway were all on the scene. For these fire fighters, the fire was tough to put out and working in these cold conditions made it even more difficult. A cause of the fire is unknown at this time. The fire is still under investigation.
