After a controversial year surrounding the Pennsylvania lottery, Governor Tom Corbett announces PA will not extend its private management agreement bid.
January 1, 2014 - After a controversial year surrounding the Pennsylvania lottery, Governor Tom Corbett announces PA will not extend its private management agreement bid.

In April of 2012, the commonwealth worked to engage a private manager to run the PA lottery.

The contract was awarded to Camelot Global, LLC last November.

The Attorney General challenged the process, leading to extensions of the bid.

Governor Corbett released a statement saying in part, “As we move forward, we will take what we've learned to make our successful lottery even better -- expanding the player and retailer base, improving player loyalty and implementing strategies that will grow our lottery, responsibly and efficiently.”
