If you're looking to fill the time between Christmas and New Year’s with some relaxation and fun, today kicks off holiday week at the wineries. If you're planning on heading to Lake Erie Wine Country soon, this is a good week to take advantage of specials at nearby wineries. Holiday week at the wineries has been going on for the past several years. 24 wineries along the Lake Erie Wine Trail are participating in the week-long event. Each winery has a different deal or event going on until January 2nd, with the exception of New Year’s Day. From discounted bubbling wine to ring in 2014, to free tours and tastings, the wineries are pulling together to bring you an affordable and tourist-like experience right in our own backyard. Lake Erie Wine Country president Bob Mazza's vineyard is on the list of participating wineries, and he's excited about an added bonus to holiday week this year. Each winery you visit, you can put an entry in for a getaway to Peek ‘n Peak. Arrowhead Wine Cellars is another participating location. The best way to find out more about what the dozens of wineries are offering is to visit www.lakeeriewinecountry.org or contact the wineries individually.
