Henry Chalupczynski of Erie was a veteran of the US Army and World War II. As a private in the infantry, Henry fought in Okinawa. He was a member of the most decorated division in the Pacific and was awarded four bronze stars. Henry's also remembered by many for the work he did after coming home, in the Erie City schools.

This member of the greatest generation would become a teacher, guidance counselor and assistant principal before retiring in 1985. Henry was also a husband, father and grandfather. He passed away in 2000.
