Hometown Heroes: Terry and Gay Emerson

This husband and wife have a passion for reaching out to others in their time of need, no matter what the emergency is.
Terry and Gay Emerson are both volunteers with the Elgin Beaverdam Hose Company. Terry has been a firefighter since 1985 and an EMT since '88. Gay has been an EMT since 2007. This husband and wife have a passion for reaching out to others in their time of need, no matter what the emergency is.

Ryan Emerson, son, says: "If someone is a trouble, they are going to help them. It doesn't matter what time of the day. Three o'clock in the morning, the scanner goes off, they're both up, dressed and out the door to go help."

Even when they are not answering calls, Terry and Gay are known for lending a hand to family, friends and neighbors whenever they're needed. These lifelong residents of Corry are the parents of two and also new grandparents. Elgin Beaverdam Hose Company volunteers Terry and Gay Emerson, this week's Hometown Heroes.
