If you want to help keep our lake shore in tip top shape, this weekend you can take part in the 28th Annual Coastal Cleanup. Led by the Department of Environmental Protection and made possible by dozens and dozens of volunteers. The cleanup days helps to ensure the beauty of our region's best assets. A little time and effort from local helping hands makes a big impact.
Event Coordinator, Jake Moore said, "It's so important because we use it every day. All of the Erie residents get their drinking water as well as others around the great lakes basin and used for an enormous tourism and recreational industry"
International Coastal Clean Up Day is this Saturday along Walnut Creek, The Erie Bluffs and Presque Isle State Park. If you haven't already signed up you can register at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center on Saturday at 9 am.
