An Erie man who pleaded guilty to trying to hire an 11-year-old girl for sex will spend up to 30 years in prison.
Thirty-two-year-old Doug Melter was sentenced to 360 months behind bars in federal court today.
He was also ordered to undergo extensive sexual offender therapy while behind bars.
Melter pleaded guilty to three felony counts back in March, including attempting to entice or induce a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity.
The 11-year-old girl, who Melter tried to lure to have sex with him, never existed.
She was part of an FBI sting operation.
