Mayor Sinnott Lays Out 2014 Budget

Sinnott describes budget as "balanced" with "accurate projections."
Mayor Joe Sinnott presented his preliminary 2014 budget to members of city council Wednesday evening.

Sinnott describes this preliminary budget as "balanced" and with "accurate projections."

The good news is that the people of Erie will not see a property tax increase.

However, there will be a slight increase in sewer and refuse fees.

Sewer fees will increase by nine dollars per quarter, and refuse fees will increase by seven per quarter.

Mayor Sinnott says those fees will increase because the cost of those services has been going up.

Overall, he says he is pleased with this $69.6 million budget.
City council will deliberate over the budget, and pass the budget by the end of the year.
